| I folded my first crane today, 999 more to go. If you would like to help fold let me know. I will be holding try outs--please submit samples of your work and I will get back to you.
Haha just kidding. Or am I?? =) I'm going to try to do the crane arrangement myself because I figured the average cost for someone else doing it is $500. I estimated that if I fold and frame myself I can do it for $80. Weddings are expensive, any area I can save in, great!
I put the crane next to a dime so you can see how small they are. I heard from a professional crane folder that you have to make them really small or they won't fit inside a frame very well:

| Yesterday, as I walk through the door at 7pm:
Mom: "Keri, I want you to know how much I love you."
Me: "Huh?" (as I head to the frig because I am hungry)
Dad: "Go over and listen to mom."
Me: "Ok, how much do you love me?"
Mom: "I had the chance to go see a taping of Dancing with the Stars tomorrow at 1pm AND I TURNED IT DOWN FOR YOU."
Today at 1pm, while my mom could be watching her favorite TV show live, she will be lovingly accompanying me as we visit our top choice wedding site and hopefully making a deposit so I can finally check one thing off my list of 3,249 things to do for the wedding.
What site? I'm not going to post that until we actually book it because it's our only choice (yeah, no Plan B, haha) and we can't have anyone jump in and steal it in the mean time.

On September 20 2003 Jerod asked me to be his girlfriend while having a quiet dinner at my house sitting on the floor.
4 years, 6 months and 8 days later Jerod asks me to marry him after an extravagant scavenger hunt which sent me around the South Bay looking for the answers to clues and completing several "challenges."
Full story with details and commentary coming to a youtube broadcast near you, but until then, here is a very very brief overview for everyone who keeps asking "When are you going update your Xanga with the story???"
Here is the cliff-notes version:
Chapter 1: The Card Kristin comes in and gives Keri a card. Card says that the church youth want to send her on a scavenger hunt to show appreciation. Card has clue to see Vicki next door. Keri goes to see Vicki, Kristin becomes official one-man camera crew and follows with camcorder.
Chapter 2: The Hall of Graphics Keri finds Vicki. Vicki gives Keri 3 graphic design challenges: Identify the fonts, identify the PMS colors and identify the photoshop filters. Keri passes with flying colors and earns next clue.
Chapter 3: The Icebreaker Keri is given a block of ice and hammer. Ice has scrabble tiles (Keri's favorite game). She has to break the ice with the hammer and unscramble the letters to spell the location of her next challenge. Tiles spell: "GO TO THE NG HOUSE." Keri and Kristin leave for the Ng Home in Palos Verdes.
Chapter 4: The Foosball Keri arrives at Ng House and has to challenge Cory to foosball. Keri loses badly.
Chapter 5: The WII Keri challenges Tif and Carolyn to Smash Brothers on the Wii. Keri's not sure if anyone won because she had no idea what she was doing on the game.
Chapter 6: The Choreo Dance Keri watches talented dancers Carolyn and Nicole perform a piece from their dance team. Keri applauds and is then told she must learn it and PERFORM it right there. "What the heck?" Keri thinks, as she is not a dancer by an means. Keri somewhat learns the dance and performs it for the camera and passes the challenge...probably because everyone was tired of watching her dance.
Chapter 7: The Pinkberry Keri meets Kat and Jeanette at Pinkberry and is told to eat an entire medium/3-toppings with no hands. Keri dives in nose first and eats the entire cup and earns her next clue.
Chapter 8: The DDR Game Keri is not coordinated at all if she has to move her arms AND her feet at the same time yet for the next challenge she has to challenge Ryan to DDR at Gable House Bowl. Keri wonders why Blake and Sean didn't join in and reasons it is because they were scared that she was going to beat them. Keri passes and is escorted to the next station, Famima (Japanese snack store).
Chapter 9: The Rootbeer Bottle and PC Magazine Keri must find rootbeer bottle with the next clue on it and purchase the rootbeer in order to see the clue. Keri wonders why she has to spend money on her own scavenger hunt. Once she gets the clue, Keri cannot figure out what it means so she must purchase the PC Magazine to earn the second clue. When she finds out that PC Mag is $6.99 she refuses to spend that much money on something with "PC" printed on the cover. Ryan, Sean and Blake let her off the hook because time is running out (because she spent so much time learning how to dance). The final clue leads her home.
Chapter 10: The Woody Doll Keri arrives at home and enters the house to find Woody on the dining room table. She walks up to Woody and searches high and low for the next clue and is confused because there is no clue attached to Woody. Then Keri picks up Woody's hat. Dangling from the hat is a ring.
Chapter 11: Jerod Kneels, Ring Seals, Friends Squeel, Everything's Surreal Keri gasps and sees Jerod come out from the hallway wearing a suit. Jerod gets down on one knee and says something Keri can't remember. Scott snaps about 500 photos, 8fps. Keri starts crying and says yes. Lynn and Connie burst from the den doors and scream. Mom and Dad hug Keri. Lynn goes pee because she was holding it for hours, apparently.
Chapter 12: Celebration Keri and Jerod return to church where everyone had been waiting forever. There's a balloon arch, a timeline on the wall, and really good home made cake. Keri and Jerod slow dance prom-style under the balloon arch. Jerod whipsers to Keri, "Are we done yet, this is weird." Dancing stops, cake-fight ensues, chapstick game entertains, Keri is the happiest girl ever.
Afterword: Keri, Jerod, Connie and Lynn go to Lynn's to play Rock Band til 2am and eat Jack in the Box fries and Jalapeno poppers for the last time. From now 'til the wedding, no junky food.
The End.
